![]() This means that players can only look to Far Cry Primal if they want to try out a game from the series that goes against the norm to deliver a fresh experience. ![]() It's a shame, since these less-than-expected sales mean that Ubisoft likely won't be taking any more risks with the Far Cry IP. The game is set in a prehistoric era, with the guns and modern weapons of the Far Cry series being replaced with spears, bows, and even animals that players can call upon in the thick of battle! It makes for a truly unique Far Cry experience that no other game in the series has replicated since.although that might've been mainly due to the disappointing sales of the title. Repeat until you've captured every outpost or feel comfortable concluding the story.Far Cry Primal is considered by many to be one of the most underrated titles in the Far Cry series, and for good reason. Like most open-world Ubisoft games, Primal feels like a remix of all the other open-world Ubisoft games: complete objectives to acquire better gear, use that gear to kill people, plant a flag in the corpses. The lack of a linear sequence plays into the gameplay design, as the "story" missions can be completed in any order (with a few exceptions). Even more than most Ubisoft games, Primal isn't so much a sequence of events as a flat, open-ended plate of tasks to complete and checkboxes to fill on a list. If you're wondering where things go from there, don't bother. But in terms of how that content is presented, it’s pure, distilled Ubisoft all the way. ![]() That doesn’t say anything about the game’s breadth, depth, or quality of content. It is, however, perhaps the most Ubisoft game I've played yet. Let's get the bottom line out of the way up front: Far Cry Primal certainly isn't the best Ubisoft game-or even the best Far Cry game. ![]()
